Balconette bras

A balconette bra, also known as a half-cup bra, has cups cut horizontally approximately halfway up the breast and widely set straps. It exposes the upper part of the bust, making it suitable for rectangular, boat, and square necklines. The bust is lifted upwards and slightly inwards, creating an uplifted effect without the need for push-up padding.

This style is comfortable for those who find that full cups have fabric that extends too high into the armpit. The shorter cup allows for more freedom of arm movement. However, it's important to remember that a balconette bra provides support from the bottom, so the band must be perfectly fitted – a loose band will immediately ruin the entire effect.

For larger cup sizes, choose balconette bras with multi-part cups and a wider band under the bust, as these distribute weight better. Widely set straps can sometimes be visible with narrow dress straps – in many models, they can be adjusted or repositioned.

The collection includes smooth and lace versions, padded and soft. Wash in a laundry bag at 30 degrees, dry flat. Shipping in 1-2 business days, free delivery from PLN 199, returns within 14 days.

A balconette is a bra with low, wide-set cups and straps sewn far from the center. The top edge of the cup runs almost horizontally, exposing the upper part of the cleavage, with the breast supported mainly from below. This creates the characteristic flat-topped shape that cannot be achieved with a full-cup model.

The collection is small, but spans a wide range of sizes: from 70B to 95D, including several models with E and F cups. Most feature underwires and lace overlays, and eight out of nine items have matching briefs in the same series.

A balconette works best under wide and square necklines, and under off-the-shoulder dresses, because the straps are set wide apart and don't show from under the fabric. It is less effective under a narrow V-neck, where it simply isn't visible. For a fuller bust, pay attention to the height of the side band: a low side band with a large volume allows tissue to escape towards the armpit.

Check the fit while standing and moving. If your breast slips out the top when you raise your arms, you need a deeper cup, not a tighter band. Bardot bras have a similar, even more horizontal cut, while push-up models provide stronger cleavage enhancement. We have described how to measure on the bra sizes page.
