Which style should you choose?

• Push-up – with padding that lifts the bust and makes it look fuller.
• Lightly padded – the cup keeps its shape without adding volume. A good everyday choice under fitted blouses.
• Soft-cup – unpadded, often in lace. Comfortable, especially on a fuller bust.
• Bardot and balconette – wider-set straps, good for square and boat necklines.
• Sports and non-wired – for training, for home and for anyone who dislikes underwires.

The right style depends on what you are wearing and how long you keep it on. A full cup gives the most support and works best day to day. A balconette leaves the top of the bust uncovered and suits wide necklines. A half cup sits somewhere between the two. Non-wired styles are comfortable for working from home and for sleeping, but they lift less. A push-up raises the bust and brings it together, while a sports bra limits movement during exercise.

Size matters

A badly fitted bra is the most common cause of discomfort: straps sliding off, the band riding up, underwires digging in. Before you order, measure under the bust and across the bust, then check our size guide. Where the manufacturer publishes its own sizing, we include it in the product description.

A bra is the one garment that works all day long, which is why fitting starts with two numbers rather than a colour. Measure directly under the bust and around the fullest part of the bust - the difference between the two sets the cup, and the first measurement sets the band.

Fabrics and comfort

Fabric matters less for fit than construction does, but it decides everyday comfort: smooth microfibre disappears under clothes, cotton breathes, lace is the most decorative. Our range includes brands such as Selene, Sielei and Kleo.

It is also worth rotating your bras. Worn day after day, a bra never gets the chance to recover its stretch, so two worn alternately will last longer than one worn every day. Elastane needs a good dozen hours off to return to its original length.
