An F cup means there is a difference of about 22 centimeters between the bust measurement and the underbust measurement. This size is rarely available in chain stores, so it's usually sought in stores with a full size range. In practice, the letter describes the difference in circumference, not the absolute size of the breasts: the same cup size for a 70 and 90 band will be a completely different volume.

For an F cup, key features are: a stiff, wide band under the bust, a three-part cup, and an underwire that extends high up under the armpit. Straps should be adjustable and wider than standard, otherwise they will leave marks on the shoulders.

Check your size with two measurements: measure your underbust tightly, on an exhale, and your bust loosely, at the fullest point. The difference indicates the letter, and the underbust circumference indicates the number. Each size has corresponding sister sizes: the same bust will also fit in one band size smaller with a larger cup letter, and in one band size larger with a smaller cup letter.
