Types of bodysuit

• Lace bodysuits – striking, often with soft cups. Wear them as lingerie or under an open blazer.
• Smooth bodysuits – in microfibre or cotton, invisible under fitted blouses and dresses.
• Bodysuits with underwires and moulded cups – they support you like a well-fitted bra.
• Control bodysuits – made from firmer fabric, they slim the waist and tummy.

Bodysuits and corsets are lingerie with a double role: underwear and clothing. A bodysuit that fastens at the gusset can be worn as a top under a blazer or with high-waisted trousers, because it never rides up as you move and keeps a smooth line across the back. A corset works differently - it shapes the waist more firmly and is usually worn for shorter stretches, with one particular outfit.

Alongside classic bodysuits, this collection also holds bras and loungewear from the same lines, so matching everything in one shade is easier. The styles differ mainly at the top: a moulded cup, a soft non-wired cup, or no separate cup at all in a version closer to a top.

How to choose your size

For a bodysuit with cups, go by your bra size (underbust measurement and cup) – our size guide will help. Bodysuits without cups are chosen by S–XXL sizing. Pay attention to torso length: if you are tall, pick a style with adjustable straps. Most bodysuits fasten at the gusset, which makes using the toilet easier.

When choosing a size, remember that a bodysuit is fitted on two measurements at once - the chest measurement and the torso length. Too short and it will pull at the gusset and drag the straps down, too long and it will wrinkle at the waist. If you have a longer torso, look for styles with straps that adjust along their full length and a gusset fastening on several hooks.

Before washing, remember to do up the poppers at the gusset - left open they catch on other items in the drum and tear out of the fabric. Dry moulded-cup styles flat, so the weight of the wet lower half does not stretch the straps.
