Bras cup D

A D cup means a difference of about 18 centimetres between the bust measurement and the underbust measurement. Contrary to popular belief, this is not an extreme size, but rather an average size. In practice, the letter describes the difference in circumference, not the absolute size of the breast: the same cup size for a 70 and 90 circumference is a completely different volume.

For a D cup, look for cups sewn from several pieces - they lift the bust higher than smooth foam and hold their shape better throughout the day. A three-row hook-and-eye closure distributes pressure more widely and is less likely to dig into your back.

Check your size with two measurements: measure your underbust tightly, on an exhale, and your bust loosely, at the widest point. The difference indicates the letter, the underbust measurement - the number. Each size has corresponding sister sizes: the same bust will also fit in one smaller band size with a larger cup letter and in one larger band size with a smaller cup letter. If your size is temporarily unavailable in a particular model, this is the first place to check.

The band under the bust should lie horizontally and be able to be pulled out by two fingers, the underwire should lie on the ribs, not on the breast, and the straps should not leave marks. Wash in a laundry bag at 30 degrees, fastened, and dry flat. Free delivery from 199 PLN, returns within 14 days.

Cup D corresponds to a band-to-bust difference of approximately 19-21 cm. Here, we've gathered models with this cup size in all available band sizes – from narrow to wide – to make it easier to compare their construction.

With this volume, the division of the cup is important. Models sewn from two or three parts lift and shape better than a single piece of foam, which can be too shallow in the lower part for larger breasts. It's also worth looking at the height of the side panel: a higher one collects tissue from under the armpit and smooths the line under a fitted blouse.

The second issue is how the breast is filled. For bottom-heavy breasts, balconette bras work well because they don't leave a gap at the top. For evenly or top-heavy breasts, full cups that cover the entire breast are ideal.

If you know your size, go straight to the size collection, for example, 80D or 95D. If not, measure your dimensions and use the size chart. We've also gathered fitting tips in our guide.

Finally, a practical matter: bras in this group are best washed in a mesh bag, with hooks fastened, and dried flat. Hanging a wet model by one strap stretches the band unevenly, and after a few months, this can be seen in the fit.
