What to look out for

In practice the letter describes the difference between two measurements, not the absolute size of the breast: the same cup on a 70 band and on a 90 band is a completely different volume.

In a D cup, look for cups seamed from several sections - they lift the bust higher than smooth foam and hold their shape better all day. A three-row hook fastening spreads the pressure more widely and digs into the back less.

Fabrics and comfort

Check your size with two measurements: take the underbust measurement firmly, breathing out, and the bust measurement loosely, at its widest point. The difference gives the letter, the underbust measurement - the number. Every size has its sister sizes: the same bust also fits one band smaller with the next letter up, and one band larger with the next letter down. If your size is temporarily unavailable in a particular model, that is the first place worth looking.

Delivery and returns

The underbust band should sit horizontal and pull away about two fingers, the underwire should rest on the ribs and not on the breast, and the straps should not leave marks. Wash in a laundry bag at 30°C with the hooks done up, and dry flat. Orders over PLN 199 ship free, and you have 14 days to return your order.

At this volume the way the cup is divided matters. Models seamed from two or three pieces lift and shape better than single-piece foam, which on a fuller breast can be too shallow in the lower section. It is also worth looking at the height of the side: a higher side gathers tissue from under the arm and smooths the line under a fitted blouse.

The second question is the way the breast is filled. When the fullness sits low, balconettes work well, because they leave no gap at the top. When it is even or sits high - full cups, which cover the breast completely.

Finally, a practical point: bras in this group are best washed in a mesh bag, with the hooks done up, and dried flat. Hanging a wet bra by one strap stretches the band unevenly, and after a few months you can see it in the fit.
