A gift that does not look like a backup plan
Lingerie can be a tricky gift for one reason: you don't know the size, or it would be awkward to ask. There is a way around it.
When you don't know the size
- Socks and tights — shoe size or height is easier to find out than a cup size.
- Pyjamas and robes — a relaxed fit forgives being one size off.
- Bodysuits and tops — S–XXL sizing instead of band and cup.
When you know the size
The safest choice is a model close to what the person already wears: the same cut, a similar fabric, a colour from her wardrobe. With bras it is worth checking the label of a favourite model, because brands size differently.
