A gift that doesn't look like a backup plan
Lingerie can be a difficult gift for one reason: you don't know the size, or it's awkward to ask. There's a way around this.
When you don't know the size
- Socks and tights — shoe size or height is easier to determine than cup size.
- Pyjamas and bathrobes — a loose fit forgives a one-size mistake.
- Bodysuits and tops — S–XXL sizing instead of bust and cup size.
When you know the size
It's safest to choose a model similar to what the person already wears: the same cut, similar material, a color from their wardrobe. For bras, it's worth checking the label of their favorite model, as brand sizing varies.
