Socks and footies

Good socks don't slip down into your shoe, don't constrict your calf, and don't wear out after a few washes. At Zeprado, you'll find women's and men's socks from Polish manufacturers, for everyday wear, suits, sports, and winter.

Types of socks

  • No-show socks – invisible in low-cut shoes and sneakers.
  • Classic socks – mid-calf, versatile.
  • Dress socks – thin, smooth, usually in dark colors.
  • Terry and thermoactive socks – thicker, warm, for winter and trekking boots.
  • Non-binding socks – for those who dislike elastic marks on their legs.

Composition

Socks with a high cotton content are most often chosen – they are breathable and pleasant to the touch. The addition of polyamide and elastane helps them maintain their shape longer. Socks with bamboo fiber wick away moisture well, and wool models are perfect for winter. The exact composition is provided for each product.

Socks are often bought in bulk, which is why we offer many models in packs and multi-color sets. Sizes are given according to shoe size. Orders over 199 PLN are shipped for free.

Socks and ankle socks are items of clothing where the difference between a cheap and a well-made model can be felt on the very first day. Three things are decisive: material composition, cuff height, and toe finishing.

The material composition determines thermal properties. Cotton is versatile and breathable, but it quickly gets damp during physical exertion. Wool, including merino, provides warmth even when damp and inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria. Bamboo is smooth, cool to the touch, and withstands frequent washing well. Terry, which is a loop on the inside, cushions the foot and is used in sports and winter models. The addition of polyamide increases abrasion resistance in the heel and toe areas.

The height is chosen to match the shoe. Ankle socks are hidden in low shoes and ballet flats, but they must have a silicone strip on the heel to prevent them from slipping down. Ankle-length socks are the most versatile. Taller models and knee-highs are worn with boots and in winter.

What to watch out for? The toe seam – a flat, carefully joined seam won't press on your nails, but a regular one can leave marks in a tight shoe. The elastic in the cuff: too tight leaves a mark on the calf, too loose allows the sock to slip down into the shoe. Sizing – socks are given in ranges, for example, 35-38, and a model at the upper end of the range will be looser.

Wash socks inside out at a low temperature; wool on a wool cycle and without fabric softener.
