Which style to choose

Sister sizes for 100C: 95D. If 100C fits well around the band but the cup digs in or gapes, reach for a sister size instead of changing only the letter — the cup volume stays similar and it is the band that changes.

This cup size works well with padded and push-up styles, because they add volume, and with smooth cups under fitted clothes.

What to look out for

100C means an underbust measurement of around a hundred centimetres with a cup difference of about fifteen centimetres. With a band that wide the main criterion is no longer support for the bust but comfort on the ribs throughout the day: the depth of the panel, the stretch of the knit and whether the bottom edge has a soft finish.

What else to check

Pay attention to the fastening. In this band size a two-row clasp can be too narrow and tends to press in, especially when you sit against a hard chair. A wider fastening spreads the pressure and moves up and down less. Check too that the side panel is high enough, because a low side on a broader rib cage creates a fold above the band.

The sister number with a similar cup volume is 95D. If the cup pushes tissue out at the top, the next step in the same band is 100D. You will find how to measure step by step on our bra sizes page. When buying, also look for straps with front adjusters, because with a broad back it is easier to alter their length without taking the bra off.

In this size, cotton or microfibre styles often work better than lace alone. A larger area of fabric means more friction against the skin, and smooth knits are gentler in that respect and easier to wash.
