Silk underwear

Silk is less common in underwear than cotton or polyamide because it is more expensive and requires careful washing. In return, it offers what no synthetic fibre can replace: a smooth, cool surface that does not electrify or stick to the body, and a natural ability to regulate temperature.

In this collection, you will find products with silk in their composition - nightgowns, pyjamas, slips, bras and briefs with silk inserts, as well as mixed knits in which silk is combined with modal or cotton. Blends are cheaper and much easier to wash than pure silk, while retaining most of its tactile benefits.

Washing: 30 degrees on a delicate cycle or by hand, in lukewarm water, with an enzyme-free detergent - regular enzyme-containing detergents break down silk's protein fibre. Do not wring, dry on a towel, iron through a cloth at the lowest temperature.

Shipping in 1-2 business days, free delivery from PLN 199, returns within 14 days.

When purchasing, check the silk content: a few percent changes the feel little, while a share above one-third already gives a noticeably smoother and cooler surface.

Silk appears in lingerie in two roles: as the main fabric and as an additive to knitwear, changing its character. In this collection, we have gathered both variants - most of them are tights and stockings with silk finishing, alongside bras, briefs, and socks.

What does this thread offer? Silk fiber is smooth and has a cross-section close to a triangle, which is why it reflects light differently than polyamide - hence its characteristic, matte-pearl sheen. It adheres to the skin without friction, so it irritates less often and does not static as easily as pure synthetics. It also regulates temperature well: it cools in summer and keeps the body warm in winter.

The admixture of silk increases the product's price, but also changes the washing method. Wash in lukewarm water up to 30 degrees Celsius, in a mesh bag, with an enzyme-free and optical brightener-free detergent. Do not wring or dry on a radiator - high temperatures stiffen the fiber. Lay the damp item flat on a towel.

If you value softness but not shine, an alternative is bamboo briefs, which are also smooth and cool to the touch. Choose your size from the size chart, not from the label of your previous pair, because silk knitwear stretches less than cotton with elastane. We write more about compositions and care in our guide.

Store silk in a dry place, away from direct light - UV rays weaken the fiber and change the shade of dyes. When putting on tights with silk thread, pay attention to your nails and jewelry, as the smooth yarn easily snags.
