100 DEN Tights

100 DEN refers to winter tights, completely opaque. DEN is a unit of yarn mass: the number of grams per 9,000 meters of fiber. Fabric and comfort

100 DEN is a dense knit from the winter tights group. The figure refers to the mass of the yarn rather than the thickness of the thread alone, but in practice the higher the number, the greater the coverage and the warmer the layer. At 100 DEN the skin is completely hidden, and the tights work as a layer of their own under a dress on cold days.

This collection holds 4 styles from the Legs line. Look at the composition: the more elastane, the better the knit moulds at the knees and the less it bags there after a few hours of wear. Styles with added viscose or cotton feel warmer but are less smooth.

A practical winter note: dense knit copes poorly with rubbing against wool skirts and rough linings. That is exactly where pilling appears first, so with everyday wear it is worth keeping two pairs in rotation.

What to look out for

With heavier knits the finish of the brief and the gusset also matters. A reinforced gusset survives more washes, and a flat seam does not print through under a fitted skirt.
