Tights 70 DEN

70 DEN refers to decidedly opaque and noticeably warmer tights. DEN is a unit of yarn mass: the number of grams per 9000 meters of fiber. The higher the value, the thicker the thread, and thus the denser, more matte, and warmer the fabric. The fabric is thick and matte, behaving more like thin leggings than classic tights. They are worn in winter under dresses, skirts, and sweater dresses, and also under trousers as an insulating layer.

At this denier, length becomes more significant: tights that are too short will pull down the crotch and wrinkle at the ankle. Check the manufacturer's size chart for the height range, not just the letter size.

Tights that are too small will pull at the crotch and are more prone to tearing at the thighs, while those that are too large will wrinkle at the ankle and slide down at the waist. 70 DEN is an opaque density: the product is matte, uniform in color, and provides noticeable warmth. It is suitable for late autumn, for skirts and dresses worn on colder days, and also as a layer under trousers.

At this thickness, the knit behaves differently than with sheer products. It is less prone to runs, but creases at the ankle and behind the knee are more noticeable, which is why choosing the size according to height and weight is more important here than with 15 DEN. A size that is too large will wrinkle at the foot, while one that is too small will lower the crotch and shorten the product's lifespan.

Comfort is enhanced by a wide waistband, reinforced foot, and flat seam. Some models of this density have an admixture of cotton, which further increases thermal comfort.
