Tights 30 DEN

30 DEN is a transitional thickness between summer and opaque tights. DEN is a unit of yarn mass: the number of grams per 9,000 meters of fiber. The higher the value, the thicker the thread, and thus the denser, more matte, and warmer the knit. The leg color is already visibly evened out, but the knit remains semi-transparent. This is a good choice for early autumn and cooler spring days when 20 DEN is too thin and 40 DEN is too warm.

This denier effectively conceals minor skin imperfections without creating the matte, uniform coverage effect found in tights from 40 DEN upwards.

Tights size is determined by height and weight combined, according to the manufacturer's chart – clothing size can be misleading here. Tights that are too small will pull at the crotch and tear faster on the thighs, while those that are too large will wrinkle at the ankle and slip down at the waist. Fabric and comfort

30 DEN is the middle ground - the knit is clearly visible on the leg but still light. It softly covers small skin imperfections without feeling like a winter layer. A sensible choice for the in-between months and for moderately heated interiors.

In black, 30 DEN looks matt and even from a distance, though it still lets a little light through. In nude shades it evens out skin tone more noticeably than 15 DEN does.

Which style to choose

A practical note on durability: thicker yarn is less prone to ladders, but it is the waistband and the gusset seam that decide how long a pair lasts. Styles with a reinforced brief and a flat seam survive more washes, and a wide, soft waistband does not roll into a cord under a skirt.

What to look out for

Pay attention to colour. The same denier looks finer in a nude shade than in black, because black knit reflects less light. If you want a discreet effect, choose a shade close to your natural skin tone.
